Tuition for Management PhD

Students admitted to the doctoral program receive a  graduate research/teaching assistantship and waiver of graduate tuition for a maximum of four years, conditional on satisfactory performance, as determined by a member of the PhD program faculty.

What to know

  • Students may receive up to $29,500 in annual funding. The assistantship stipend amount for fall 2023 is $21,000 annually. This is supplemented by a potential $6,000 faculty supervised summer research assistantship, and a fee scholarship of approximately $2,500 per year (to help offset the cost of broad-based feed not covered by the tuition scholarship).
  • Assistantships require funded students to assist faculty in their teaching or research for 20 hours per week.
  • Winners of the Provost's Summer Fellowship will receive an additional $4,000 in summer research assistantship funding.
  • SOM policy does not permit funding recipients to take on any other work (paid or otherwise), unless approved by the concentration coordinator, the PhD program director, and the SOM Dean. This includes fall, spring, and summer of every year.
