The Watson Career Essentials Skills Badge will provide the opportunity for Watson College students, alumni, and professionals to develop fundamental skills that will enhance their career development and increase their employability. Resources and individual guidance with an expert will be provided for participants.
Upon completion of the badge, participants will possess four learning artifacts, including a professional resume and cover letter, complete LinkedIn profile, and a critiqued mock interview.
To earn the Watson Career Essentials Skills Badge, complete the following four assignments:
Professional Resume – Engineering or computer science–specific resume tailored to your field
Cover Letter – Customized for a position of interest and aligned with your career goals
LinkedIn Profile – Complete with a professional headshot, headline, summary, experience, education,
and skills, plus a plan to expand your professional network
Mock Interview – Participate in a practice interview and receive personalized feedback for improvement
For your first resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn review, we encourage scheduling an in-person or virtual appointment with our office. However, you may also submit your materials through our to receive feedback via email.
After completing all four assignments and incorporating feedback from your 1:1 WCAC appointments, please submit all materials together as a single packet using the form below.
