Nicole Burek ‘25, a Queens native, is graduating from ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ with honors in sociology, a second major in statistics and a minor in geographic information systems.
From Local Roots to Global Impact
Founded in 1945, Geography at ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ has grown into a dynamic, globally engaged department, whose graduates continue to make an impact in communities and organizations around the world. Undergraduate and graduate students gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed for careers and doctoral study in urban, regional, and sustainable planning; environmental analysis and management; GIS and remote sensing; economic and urban spatial analysis; and teaching. Our faculty are not only dedicated teachers but also leading researchers who actively involve students in meaningful projects and discoveries.
