Marcus Newton is an artist based in Binghamton, New York. He has a deep interest in a nuanced wilderness: one that grows between the cracks in sidewalks and along the contours of civilization. He frequently works at the fringes of built and natural landscapes – investigating various tropes, objects, and places which communicate a cultural connection to aesthetics and nature. His recent projects explore the natural and urban landscapes as a vernacular language. Marcus' work has been exhibited nationally and in Canada including recently at Coker University, SC; Exposure Photography Festival, Alberta; Ohio University; Vermont Center for Photography, VT; Spool MGF, NY. He is currently the Photography Specialist/Studio Technician at ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ where he also teaches photography.
